We are a student ran club that meets after school every other week to collect paper for recycling from allover the school. *Girls Basketball Try Outs Oct 23-25 2019 6:00 – 8:00 AM You must have a current Physical Form and KISD paperwork on file before try outs. If you are interested in trying out speak with Coach Nelson.
*The Harker Heights High School Bowling Club will begin its season with an organizational meeting on Tuesday, 8 October, 4:40 PM, at Killeen Bowlerama. Pre-season practice will begin on 11 October, same time and same location.All interested bowlers, regardless of skill level, are invited to attend. Any questions can be directed to Coach Garry McNiesh at 254-338-9118 (text is preferred).
*Are you interested in a career in law enforcement? Are you interested in helping to make your school a safer place? Then join Crime Stoppers. Meetings are every Friday in Mrs. Metzger's room 1302 at 8:15. Even if you don't have time to join the club, if you witness something unsafe on our campus, report it! You could be eligible for a reward! Call or text Crime Stoppers at 254-423-2600. If you didn't catch that number, our posters are up around the school.
*Attention seniors - the FAFSA opens October 1st. Make sure you know when your college deadline is for this very important information. The following scholarships are now available: Bell County Area Go Texas Scholarship due February 3rd and Voice of Democracy due October 31st. The deadline to sign up for the November 2nd SAT test is October 3rd. The deadline to sign up for the December 14th ACT test is November 8th. Stop by and see your counselor for more information.

*Underclass photo retakes will be Thursday, October 17, 2019. This is for the following • Students that were absent on the day of photos • Students that want to order the photos and have the order form with them. • Students that bring their photo order back for a retake of the photo. (must have this) • Faculty that did not get their photo taken in the September session. We will be in the auditorium lobby from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Students will need to come to the lobby on their own time if they are not enrolled in an English class on the HHHS campus.
*We will have a pink all out pep rally Thursday during 7th period in support of Cancer Awareness month. We will be selling pep rally tickets for a $1. Last time to buy tickets will be tomorrow during A/B lunch.

* Harker Heights Cinema Club will meet on Mondays after school at 4:15. Screenings last an hour and adiscussion of the film will follow the completion of each movie. Students who are interested in film andengaged discussions are encouraged to attend. For any questions visit Mr. Marroquin in room 2305.

*The Harker Heights Soccer Program is hosting open field beginning at 7:45 am for any student interested in playing soccer. You do not have to be in the soccer period to play during open field. Open field will be held every morning during the week. We look forward to seeing you.
*The 9th-11th grade photos were sent to the English teachers to be handed out to the students. If you did not get your photo packet check with Miss Hunter in room 2101.
*Interact is having two donation drives! 1st: the shoes you no longer want, create opportunities people need. clean out your closets and donate today! New shoes are accepted as well. This drive is until spring break! 2nd: wands for wildlife: gather your old mascara wands and donate them today to help save wild lives! this drive will be until the end of January. Look out for donation boxes around the school, in classrooms, or in Ms. Michael's classroom 1110.
*October 13th is National Train Your Brain Day. This day was created to bring attention to, and celebrate, the incredible power of the mind. Every day we train our mind, teaching it how to react to situations, telling it what it's capable of, and even how to interpret the feelings and actions of others. Stop in the library this week to test the power of your mind. Participants who figure out the library's teasers will win a prize.
*This Friday, October 18th will be our next paper pickup. If you are a downstairs classroom, please have your box out before 7th period. Portable boxes will also be emptied 7th period. If you are upstairs, please have your box out at the end of the school day. Thank you Knights for all the paper you are recycyling!
*Our first blood drive of the year is Monday, Oct 28th. Sign ups are the 21st-25th during lunches at the table Carter Blood Drive table in the hall across from the cafeteria. You must bring your government issue ID to sign up and to your appointment. You will be given a permission slip for age 16. Please give the gift of life.
