Mrs. Tammy Thornhill

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Tammy Thornhill

I am so proud to be the Principal of West Ward Elementary School! I have taught elementary school, been an instructional coach, and an Assistant Principal prior to coming to West Ward.

I grew up in Killeen, Texas having attended Peebles Elementary School, Rancier Middle School, and Killeen High School. When I was little, I used to spend summers and weekends with my grandmother who lived right around the corner from West Ward, so the neighborhood that surrounds the school is very special to me.

I graduated with my Bachelor of Science Degree and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University-Central Texas.

I am married, have two children, a son-in-law, and two precious grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and taking long walks.

I believe in creating positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and community members. It is important to have a clear vision with a focus on instructional practices that will ensure all students prepared and capable for future endeavors.

We have the best teachers, faculty, and staff in the district, and I am proud of their tireless efforts in making sure that all students feel loved, secure, and supported.

I am proud to be the principal of West Ward Elementary School, and I know this will be a great year! Go Wildcats!
