As the Parent Liaison of West Ward Elementary School, I ensure that home & schoolwork together to promote academic success of the students. Providing information and assistance to parents and their children
Workshops are held on a variety of topics that parents can sue in their lives to help their children.
West Ward provides many opportunities for you to become involved in your child’s experiences at school and volunteering is a rewarding fulfilling experience. If you are interested in volunteering, please feel free to come by for a volunteer orientation. A volunteer orientation consisting of a 20-minute video, a tour of the building, completing the volunteer application, which asks questions on your interests, special skills, and hobbies.
You will be asked to complete a background check. Texas state law demands that public schools obtain criminal history records of all personal employed or involved in volunteer services in public schools. (Texas Education Code 22.083). Our concern is for the welfare and safety of everyone at West Ward!
Wee Readers’ Club
This club has been created for children 4 years old or younger NOT enrolled in a Pre-K program.
Introducing young children to pre-reading skills allowing for a successful transition into a formal school setting.
