Military Family and Life Consultant (MFLC)
-
Due to the unique challenges faced by military families, particularly during this time of war, the Department of Defense is providing professional licensed consulting staff to provide non-medical counseling services. MFLCs support military children and youth and all adults who support them. MFLCs provide brief, solution-focused problem-solving support. They keep no records and work in support of existing military services. MFLCs observe, participate, and engage in activities with children and youth. Some issues addressed by MFLCs include school adjustment; deployment, separation, and reintegration issues; behavioral concerns; and daily life issues. Parents are required to complete MFLC paperwork prior to receive one-on-one consultation with the MFLC. Forms are available from the school counselor and are distributed at the beginning of the year.
