Class of 2020 Information
Important Information About Senior Class Rank, GPA, and Grades
- Your final senior rank grade snapshot will be taken at the end of the day on Thursday, April 16th. Your grades as of that Thursday will be averaged with your third marking period grades and used to calculate your final ranking and GPA.
- Please make sure all of your work is caught up by that time so your final GPA will reflect your best effort.
- Your GPA and rank will NEVER be recalculated once they are finalized within the week or so after the 18th.
- No corrections to your grades can be made after that Thursday for the ranking calculations.
- Please understand: The grades you will have earned at the end of the school year are what will be entered on your final transcript, but your rank and GPA will never change once the final calculation has been made after April 18th.
The Harker Heights High School Class of 2020 Commencement Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at 8:00 p.m., at the Bell County Expo Center. The venue is equipped with seating that provides a view of the ceremony from every seat, large projection screens to see your graduate walk across the stage, free parking, and live streaming of the ceremony for family and friends to view over the Internet.
Each Harker Heights HS graduate will be allotted (TBD)(amount could change) tickets for family and friends to attend the graduation ceremony. Students are encouraged to speak with classmates who may not be using their allotted number of tickets if they need additional tickets.
Tickets are required for all guests attending the commencement ceremony due to building capacity restrictions at the Bell County Expo Center. Each person who enters must have a ticket (a ticket is not required for children two and under who sit in another ticket holder’s lap). Graduating seniors will not need a ticket. It is the responsibility of the student to pick up tickets at the designated times established (TBD). Lost tickets will not be replaced. The commencement ceremony may be viewed via live stream at www.gradcast.org
- Each senior will receive their tickets once campus/district bills, fines, and/or obligations are cleared.
- Graduation announcements that are purchased and sent out are NOT admission tickets. Please be sure friends and family understand this policy.
- All tickets will be "General Admission" and there will be no reserved seating. Doors to the Bell County Expo Center will open 90 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.
- Selling commencement tickets is prohibited. Tickets are free and not for profit. The campus will investigate any reported incidents. Students found selling commencement tickets may be barred from participation in the commencement ceremony.
- There is no re-entry to Expo Center Graduation ceremony without a ticket stub.
- Students are encouraged to speak with classmates who may not be using their allotted number of tickets if they have a need for additional tickets.
Students can pick up their allotted tickets. However, guardians can pick up tickets at the designated time for their student. Tickets are only released to the student and/or guardian. Tickets will not be released to anyone other than the senior student and/or guardian listed on the student’s school profile.
- Thursday, May 21st during senior Gov./Eco. classes
- If you attend the Career Center all-day, you will pick up tickets at the Career Center with Ms. Guerrero on May 21st. Pathways students will pick up their tickets with Ms. Harper on May 21st.
- After May 21st, tickets can be picked up from the Student Activities Office.
LIVE video stream of all area school graduation ceremonies will be available. We offer a live online access of commencement ceremonies for Belton, Temple, Copperas Cove and all Killeen ISD high schools for family and friends who are unable to attend in person. Include the web address in your graduation invitations: www.gradcast.org.
If you will have a deployed family member at the time of graduation visit the website or Student Activities to submit a deployed family member Gradcast request for an interactive video connection during the graduation ceremony. The Gradcast connection allows graduates to see their loved ones down range as they accept their diploma and allows loved ones to celebrate the graduate’s success as they watch their graduate walk across the stage. A graduation cap and gown can be ordered at www.texashj.com Please be sure purchase your cap and gown as soon as possible to ensure a timely delivery.

Senior Formal Pictures:
September 17-19 from 8:00am-4:30pm during your English 4 Class in the auditorium lobby (attire provided).
*Students who attend the Career Center must make arrangements to take their senior picture on any of the dates listed above. Try your best to attend before the Career Center or after school. We do not want you to miss class time.
*Pathways, TBI students, or if you do not have an English class: students will need to come to the auditorium lobby on their own as we will not have a designated time for them. Our hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on all three days.

*Retakes for SENIORS: Thursday , October 24th 8:00 am-4:30pm
You must have a Valid Harker Heights ID Card and a 12 printed on it to be included in the picture.
*Pathways, Career Center, and TBI Students must make prior arrangments if you would like to be included in the picture. No transporation will be delayed or provided. You must have identification that validates your home campus is HH
Senior Retakes (Pictures)
Senior Formal Retakes are scheduled for Thursday, October 24th from 8:00-4:30. Contact Tammy.Hunter@killeenisd.org for additional information.
The Seniors will have an assembly on Thursday, January 9th to receive important information about Cap and Gown Orders and graduation. If a student is absent, the information can be picked up in Student Activties.
If the student attends the Career Center, Herff Jones will be doing the same presentation on January 11th at the Career Center.
Herff Jones will be back on campus to take graduation orders January 15 (11:30-1:30) and January 16 (11:30-6pm) in the auditorium lobby to take cap and gown orders. Gowns are purchased by students and are not rented.
Cap & Gown Pictures:
January 22-24 BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
Appointments must be made prior to January 22nd for a time slot. The cap and gown is provided for students to take their picture. This is an optional service provided. Students have the choice to take cap and gown pictures at their choice of business, but we want to provide this opportunity to save students and parents time and money. If students attend the Career Center, TBI, or Pathways, you can email Tammy.Hunter@killeenisd.org to set up an appointment.
Cap & Gown Orders
Herff Jones will be on campus Wednesday, January 15th from 11:30-1:30 pm and Thursday, January 16th from 11:30-6:00 pm in the auditorium lobby. Students received the packets with all the pricing information on January 9th during the senior assembly. If a student was absent, the packet can be picked up outside of Student Activities Office. For questions, contact Student Activities. Reminder: all students must purchase a cap and gown to participate in graduation ceremonies.

You do not have to order in person and can order your cap and gown online. Please do so immediately to ensure timely delivery.
KISD Mid-Year Graduation
Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. Graduates need to arrive by 4:45pm to the auditorium lobby. Heights Studio will be there to take individual pictures right before the ceremony. Cap and gowns can be picked up when the student arrives that day. Please bring check or money order to pay for your cap and gown. $45.00. Cap and gowns are purchased and are NOT rented. Contact Student Activities with any questions.
Delivery of Cap & Gowns
Orders placed in a timely manner will be delivered to the campus by Herff Jones on Wednesday, April 30th during 3rd period. An announcement will be made to seniors on when to pick up their items during their lunch period (auditorium stage)
Senior Cap & Gown Panoramic
TBD in the Large Gym. You must have your cap and gown with you in order to participate as this is Senior Photo. We do not have cap and gowns for students to take this picture. You will have received your cap and gown April 30th. Bring your cap and gown with you on this day. The photographer will be back during lunch this week for students to purchase the senior panoramic and I will send out the link for purchases to be made online.
If you are a Career Center student and want to participate in the Senior Panoramic, your absence will be cleared if you are present here. Be sure to sign in.
Deadline for Awards
Seniors – scholarship awards letters are due May 5th by 4:30 p.m. in the guidance office. Make sure you have turned in scholarship award information. No extension will be given. Any questions contact Ms. Shultz.

Optional event for seniors to participate in. Family and friends are invited to attend. Seniors participating simply show up to attend the ceremony. The attire for the event is school appropriate and your cap and gown. Report time is by 2:30 in the church to line up. The program begins promptly at 3:00 pm. This event is free.
Sunday, May 17, 2020 the Senior Picnic will be at 5:00 pm, Harker Heights Community Park.
Thursday, May 28th at 1:40 pm in the HHHS Auditorium. Please wait for the announcement to be released. This will include important information about how to line up at graduation, how to enter, where to go, where you will be sitting, etc.
Saturday, May 30, 2020 at the Bell County Expo Center 8:00 p.m. Students must arrive between 6:30-7:00pm in dress code. You must bring your cap and gown with you to the assembly hall. ONLY graduates are allowed in the assembly hall. No cell phones or electronics are allowed in the assembly hall.

We do offer live streaming of the graduation ceremony from the KISD website. This allows for anyone, anywhere to watch the ceremony. The link is available that day. Go to KISD website, scroll down to Parent Links, Click Graduation Resources.
There will be tickets for the Graduation Ceremony at Bell County Expo Center. Harker Heights senior students are anticipated to receive TBD (amount could change) tickets. A formal letter will be sent out addressing tickets, policy, and distribution dates.
