Mrs. Brenda Gillespie

Education  

I moved to Killeen in 1972 with my family. I was a military child. I attended East Ward Elem. from 2nd grade to 6th grade.  We then moved to Ding Dong, Texas and I attended Florence Jr High and High School. I graduated in 1982. I attended CTC for my basics and then attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. I graduated in 1995 and began my teaching career. In 2015 I graduated from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas with a Master’s in Education and in 2018 I completed my Certification to be a Professional School Counselor through Inspire Texas out of Houston Texas.

Experience 

In 1984-1986 I was in Instructional Assistant at Meadows Elem for Chapter I. In August 1995, I taught fifth and third grade at Nolanville Elem. for 9 years. I moved to Clear Creek Elem. and taught second and third grade. I was the ESL teacher for grades Pk3-5th grade and the last three years a Special education teacher for grades Pk3 – 5th grade. I taught resource and was a co-teacher for many grade levels. I became a counselor at Trimmier Elem. in July 2018.

Personal 

In 1985 I married my wonderful husband. We have two beautiful daughters. My oldest is Surgical Tech at Scott and White Hospital. My youngest is a full-time student at Texas A& M Central Texas. She wants to help children and is studying to become a psychologist. She works full time in customer service. We all reside in Belton with our 4 dogs and we enjoy our time together in our busy schedules
