Degrees and Certifications:
I received my Bachelors and Masters degrees from Baylor University, specializing in Elementary Education, Reading, and Library Science, and have taught second, third, and fifth grades. I have been a certified librarian for 35 years, and have been our church librarian for 22 years. This is my 18th year as an elementary school librarian. My husband teaches high school math, and we have two grown children. Our daughter is married and in nursing school. We are the proud grandparents of a precious and energetic granddaughter, Lynnette. Our son is working in telecommunications, with aspirations to pursue a career in the music & film industry. My hobbies include stamping & scrapbooking, singing, playing games with friends & family, and of course, READING!
I want to help instill in every student a passion for reading & life-long learning.
My goals are to:
- promote reading by exposing the students to various genres of literature
- teach students to be curious and think critically
- facilitate student access, use and evaluation of print & online information
- encourage students to respect each other and our library
READERS ARE LEADERS!!!
