Degrees and Certifications:
After growing up in very small town on the Georgia coast, Alan started his life in education by joining the Army at the age of seventeen and traveling the world. He has been stationed and deployed to many locations around the world to include Germany, Hawaii, Bosnia, South Korea, Japan, and finally retiring at Ft. Hood. While in the Army he completed Airborne, Air Assault and Pathfinder schools to name a few.
He attended several colleges at several locations around the world and was finally able to stay in one place long enough to graduate from Central Texas College with a degree in Information Technology. He also has a Bachelor degree in Political Science with a minor in History from Tarleton State University –Central Texas.
When he retired from the Army as a First Sergeant after twenty-three years, he worked as a Software/Hardware Test Engineer for G-Army for eight and a half years. In 2009, he was selected as the first Campus Technology Support Specialist at “The Charles Patterson Middle School” when the school opened.
He enjoys traveling and working out (sometimes combining the two) with his wife of thirty-six years Adrianne, who is a teacher in CCISD. He has two children a son, Dr. J. Alan Waters Jr. and daughter, Dr. Aubri Waters both whom are married. Most importantly he has two wonderful granddaughters, Kate and Riley and a grandson, Reese.
