Computer Literacy
This is an introductory course designed to acquaint students with the computer as a machine and a problem solving tool. Areas that will be covered include learning the history of computers, listing uses of computers in society, identifying computer
terminology, understanding advantages and disadvantages of using computers,
identifying different types of computers, performing basic computer operating
procedures, using commercial software packages in a variety of applications, writing reasonably structured BASIC programs, identifying computer-related careers, and identifying the legal issues and ethics pertaining to computer use.
