Hello Willow Springs Community and Welcome to the 2019-20 school year!!
My name is Lynette Pettway and I feel truly honored and blessed to serve as an Assistant Principal as part of the amazing Willow Springs family. This is going to be an exciting, remarkable year! I look forward to partnering with you and your family as we work together to help our students reach their highest potential - academically, socially and emotionally.
Born and raised in Wisconsin (Go Packers!), I served in the military as an Intelligence Analyst and Russian Linguist. I then spent several years in the social work field working with foster children and foster families before I realized by dream of educating children. This will be my 13th year as part of the KISD family where I have served as a teacher, Instructional Coach and CIS prior to becoming an Assistant Principal.
I truly believe that each and every child is capable of learning at high levels. By promoting a positive, nurturing and engaging environment, we allow ALL students to have the opportunity to achieve their personal best. I believe that as educators, we have the moral obligation to treat each and every student the way that we would want our own children to be treated. I also believe that our students can be even more successful when parents and school personnel are working together to meet each child’s needs. Please know that we are here for you and that your child’s academic success, social well-being and safety are top priority for us. Your input is encouraged, valued and plays a significant role in your child’s success.
I am proud to call Willow Springs my home and absolutely thrilled to serve the students, parents, staff and community of this wonderful school!
I am honored to be at Willow Springs Elementary serving as an Assistant Principal!! I have been in education quite a long time and love the opportunity to see students learning, growing, and pursuing their interests. As part of an outstanding leadership team, I plan to help guide our students and teachers in an instructional capacity towards increasing our overall school achievement. Also, with the support of our outstanding staff members and our parents, I know that we can eliminate barriers to student success and create an environment that provides for academic, social, and emotional student growth. At Willow Springs we provide multiple opportunities for students to better themselves and also embrace a leadership role.
Please let any of us know if there is something that we can do to assist you and your student.
Hello Willow Springs Community!
It is with great pleasure and excitement that I have become a member of the Willow Springs Community! I am honored to embark upon my role as an Assistant Principal with my leadership team. I look forward to assisting our leadership team create a positive, engaging learning environment for all students while building relationships with the community.
I’ve had the honor and privilege of serving as a military spouse for 22 years and mother of three amazing children. Although I originate from Houston, Texas (Go Texans!), Killeen has always held a special place in my heart. My greatest joy is to build positive productive relationships where students and the community succeed as a whole. I taught grade levels: kindergarten and third and served on numerous committees. In 2018, I earned my Masters in Educational Administration at Grand Canyon University, and the decision to become an administrator came from a desire to make a positive impact on an entire school, not just my classroom of students.
The students of Willow Springs are the future, and it takes all of us to be actively involved in their education. I would love to work together to meet and exceed the expectations we have set for them. I am very much looking forward to meeting each of you over the course of the school year. Please know my door is always open to help support you and focus on growth by doing what is best for our students.
