Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year at Timber Ridge!  The English as a Second Language (ESL) program consists of two fabulous ESL certified teachers as well as one amazing ESL instructional assistant to work with our English Learners (ELs) on campus. Mrs. Stephens is one of our teachers and she is located on our campus full-time. She has 15 years of experience with elementary education and for 10 consecutive years she has been with the ESL Department. Mrs. Rushing is our half-time ESL teacher and she will be on campus Monday, Wednesday, and every other Friday. You can find Mrs. Rushing at Saegert Elementary when she is not working at Timber Ridge! Mrs. Acker is our full-time instructional assistant and she will be on campus every day to assist ESL teachers and EL students.

The purpose of the ESL program is to develop academic competence in English and to help prepare the student to be successful in all academic subjects.  We will be servicing our ELs during the grade level’s designated intervention time as well as co-teaching in specific ELAR blocks of various grade levels. Mrs. Acker will be providing  support for Imagine Learning and working with small groups during intervention.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us via email or by calling the school.  We know we are going to have an exciting year full of learning!
