Return to Face-to-Face Instruction

August 31, 2020

Eagle Parents:

On Monday, August 31st, 2020, all KISD campuses will return to offering in-person instruction for all students who choose to attend in person. Students who choose to continue working remotely via Schoology may continue to do so.

Here are a few important points to remember for the first day of in-person instruction:

*See campus bell schedule for class, lunch, and dismissal times.

*All students, staff, and visitors are required to wear a mask while on campus, and to self-screen for fever or any COVID symptoms before reporting to campus.

*All students, staff, and visitors should maintain social distancing to the extent possible in every activity.

*Student entrances will open at 8:00 am.

*Students will enter campus in the morning at the following entrances:

-Students arriving by bus:                    Technology Office door (to the right of the bus loop).

-Students driving to campus:              Student entrance.

-Students being dropped off:              Student entrance or front office entrance.

-Students purchasing breakfast:       Back entrance of cafeteria.

*Campus maps will be available inside the building once students arrive.

*Students who choose in-person instruction should be sure to view their schedules in Home Access Center before Monday, and take a screen shot of their schedules in order to have the classroom numbers for each of their classes.

*A schedule print station will be available in the main hall in front of the Counselors’ Office.

*All students should enter campus and report to their 1st period class to receive their student ID, and for further instructions about campus procedures.

*Students who have laptops from remote learning are welcome to bring them to school, but are not required to do so. All students who have checked out laptops from school will continue to use them for both learning formats, in-person or remote.

*Students are welcome to carry a bottle of water during the school day. Water bottles must be clear and have a lid.

*Regular lunch procedures will be in place for all students:

-See KISD School Nutrition web site for information on school lunches.

-Students in 9th Grade must remain on campus for lunch.

-Open Campus lunch is for students in grades, 10, 11, and 12 only.

-Cafeteria seating will be adjusted for social distancing.

*Students who wish to change learning environments (Face-to-Face/Remote) may do so by completing the Learning Environment Change Request Form, and submitting it to the student’s Counselor. Our Counselors will work to make the change as quickly as possible.

*Attendance will be taken as follows:

-Students who are present in person in the classroom will be marked “Present”.

-All other students will be marked “Absent”, with students engaging in remote learning via Schoology having their Attendance updated overnight.
